It occurred to me recently that I have been producing Jewellery since I was at school ( a long time ago !) my father a gifted artist and jeweller bought me a rock tumbling machine for a birthday in which I tumble polished a variety of irregular shaped rocks agates and similar material over many hours resulting in permanently polished stones that I glued to base metal bell caps attached a chain and sold pendants to family and friends I was hooked .
I pursued that initial interest and joined a large gold and Diamond Jewellery manufacturer in the Jewellery quarter in Birmingham learning all aspects of the Jewellery manufacturing process from casting, mounting, setting to finishing and eventually taking the opportunity to spend some years at their factory in Hatton Garden London.
However, after ten wonderful years in the industry other temptations led me to less exciting but more lucrative ventures needs must as they say.
Having moved to Cornwall in 2012 I felt it was time to dust off the workbench and return to what really excited me, creating hand crafted and individual jewellery items. I like to work with all metals textures and colours and am particularly keen to include precious and semi- precious gemstones wherever possible I describe my designs as wearable and elegant some are influenced by my time living in Cornwall the sea, boats and the beaches others just simple designs I find pleasant on the eye flowing curves and patterns.
